2025.04.25Our CEO Toshi Maeda featured in a financial report

J-Stories founder discusses the mission of J-Stories, his 15 years of media innovation, and the importance of impactful storytelling.

Our CEO, Toshi Maeda, has been featured in the financial news blog Tokyo Croma Tsushin. He shared his thoughts about the importance of using a global language and storytelling in business — especially for Japanese companies wanting to expand worldwide.

Maeda talked about PBMC’s mission to create a cross-border media between Japan and the world. For 15 years, PBMC has created a track record of creating content for their and global audiences. He emphasized the need for Japanese companies to present their products and ideas in English, not just as a translation but with intention and strategy to connect globally.

J-Stories, our media platform dedicated to showcasing Japan’s innovations and solutions-driven stories, is instrumental in this mission. Through J-Stories, we told the stories of upcoming Japanese startups to the world. He said that Japan is respected internationally, but it’s still crucial for its Japanese companies and entrepreneurs to engage with international audiences.

Maeda’s interview is part of the blog’s Startup Interview series (published on April 15, 2025), which features outstanding entrepreneurs and innovations. The interview was done by Daiki Iga, a veteran financial journalist with decades of experience reporting for Reuters and now the editor for Tokyo Croma Tsushin.
